Walnut prices rose by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today largely on the back of fresh buying by retailers and stockists amid low stocks.

Tight supplies from growing regions also supported the upside in prices.

Walnut and its kernel prices rose by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 200-300 and Rs 550-850 per kg, respectively.

Marketmen said increased buying by retailers and stockists against tight supplies from growing regions, mainly helped walnut prices to rise.

The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg):

Almond (California) Rs 14,600 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 7,100-7,800; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,300-4,000; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-20,000.

Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 495-545 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 400-450 per kg.
