While residents pay taxes to the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation for beautification of the city, it is a group of volunteers and students who have started a drive in the city to transform the defaced walls.

In its second drive after Malhar road, a group of women from ALL (ASSOCHAM Ladies League) and students from Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill road, did a makeover of an ignored bus stop and a wall behind it. Area councillor Narinder Kala also accompanied them.

Harpreet Soin, a volunteer, told Newsline, “We painted the wall and bus stop and also planted a few trees along. The area councillor also cooperated fully. More such drives will be planned in future.”
