While residents pay taxes to the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation for beautification of the city, it is a group of volunteers and students who have started a drive in the city to transform the defaced walls.
In its second drive after Malhar road, a group of women from ALL (ASSOCHAM Ladies League) and students from Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill road, did a makeover of an ignored bus stop and a wall behind it. Area councillor Narinder Kala also accompanied them.
Harpreet Soin, a volunteer, told Newsline, ďWe painted the wall and bus stop and also planted a few trees along. The area councillor also cooperated fully. More such drives will be planned in future.Ē
Earlier, the wall was filled with pamphlets and hoardings while the bus stop was completely defaced.
