Vintage car rally organised to raise awareness about cancer
The ‘Classic Car Parade’ was organised by Global Cancer Concern India (GCCI), a government organisation, in association with Heritage Motoring Club of India.
Chief guest of the event Gursharan Kaur congratulated GCCI for supporting those suffering from cancer. “Cancer is a dangerous disease. It makes the sufferer and the family helpless, both economically and emotionally. I have seen people suffering in my own family. Only sufferers know what it does. I, therefore, wholeheartedly support GCCI and its president Inderjit K Pannu.”
Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit was also at the function.
“We conduct specialised training programmes for doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff in various hospitals and institutions. One of our recent and major initiatives is setting up of a hospice facility attached to the Base Hospital at Delhi Cantonment in association with Indian Army. We have also participated in relief measures during natural disasters,” said GCCI president Pannu.
