Vijaya Bank Q2 net down 39% at R123 cr

Vijaya Bank on Monday recorded 39% decline in profit at Rs 123.37 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2012.
The Bangalore-headquartered lender had posted a net profit of Rs 203.53 crore for the July-September quarter of 2010. Total income of the lender during the quarter rose to R2,301.72 crore from Rs 2,098.33 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, Vijaya Bank said in a filing to the BSE.
During the first six months of the current fiscal, the net profit of the bank fell by 14% to R234.73 crore from R275.75 crore in the corresponding period of 2011-12.
Total income during the April-September period rose to Rs 4,621.66 crore from Rs 4,051.73 crore in the period last fiscal.
