A minor student of Don Bosco school at Yerwada was molested allegedly by its vice-principal, who was arrested on Tuesday after public outrage and protests outside the educational institution.

Vice-principal Iju Francis Falkau, 54, had called the 14-year-old girl, in his office on January 2 around 1 pm when he allegedly molested her, police said.

Based on a complaint, a case was booked against the accused yesterday under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 511 of the IPC and subsequently he was arrested today, they said.

Workers of several political parties today protested the alleged offence and demanded strict action against the accused. They gathered outside the school and shouted slogans against Falkau.

No One knows the Truth

I do agree with the comments of MR. cos what was this girl & her mother doing for so many days that she logged a complaint on 21st Jan 2013? Or is there some other reason for which all this has been plotted to spoil the name of school for someone else gain? It could be so because now a days everyone knows that molestation or rape is a biggest crime and no one can get bail. Also once the name of this school is spoiled new admissions are going to be affected as this is one of the prestigious school in Pune. Its a request whoever has done it please don%u2019t spoil someone's name or Institutions name for your own selfish reason. You are playing with someone%u2019s life one day the truth will come out & if he is not guilty than what what will people say about this person? will they stand by him or forget this episode? And if this VP is guilty he has to be punished. So wait till it is been proved. Dont blame with knowing the truth

The alleged crime which happened on 2 January 2013 at midday is reported to police on 21 January 2013. What was the reason for this long delay? And, what is the proof with the girl to prove the crime since she reported it so late? Public outrage is understandable because they think the crime did take place, but what if this is motivated by some other reasons?
