UT seeks details to reimburse schools for EWS students
Taking the first step towards settlement of the long-pending bills submitted to them by the schools asking for reimbursement for admission of Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) children under RTE, a performa has been prepared by the department.
The performa will be sent to all private schools seeking information on the number of admissions of under RTE at the entry level classes for the three sessions since 2010, including the ongoing session. The details required to be furnished include name of the entry class, total number of seats in entry class, total number of seats reserved for EWS, and the number of admissions given to EWS children. Also the per child expenditure per month has been asked to be submitted.
“The state education department has sufficient budget for reimbursing the schools and the process has been initiated. We are looking forward to resolving the matter in a speedy manner,” says Director, Public Instructions (DPI), Upkar Singh.
Further the schools have been asked to report at the office of District Education Officer on November 3 and produce certain documents, including application form, attendence register, admission withdrawal register, result register and fee register.
