US will have the largest delegation at Aero India 2013
Focusing on enhancing industrial partnership and commitment to meeting India’s defense modernisation requirements, US defence industry will have a huge presence at the Aero-India 2013 at Banglore.
With the US military sales to India touching close to $12 billion, top US defence companies including Boeing Company, FLIR, General Electric, Gulfstream Aerospace Corp, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Rockwell Collins, Textron will be present there.
These companies will be showcasing advanced capabilities in air, land, naval, and internal security systems.
Led by former Lt Gen Jeff Kohler, vice president, Boeing military aircraft, and former Vice Admiral Kevin J Cosgriff, senior vice president, international business and government, Textron Systems the US-India Business Council (USIBC) will have the largest industry delegation presence at the show.
Referring to the advanced bilateral security ties, USIBC president Ron Somers, said that “the US has consistently offered India the best-in-class capabilities across all defense and security dimensions, broadening the areas in which our two governments, militaries, and industries cooperate.”
Adding, "This remarkable growth in defence sales translates to thousands of high-skill jobs being created both in India and the US, making it a 'win-win' for both countries."
In meeting many of India's defence modernisation requirements, "US industry leads the way in offering the most advanced technology with long-term support for the multitude systems offered", said Kohler in a statement.
"In addition to offering proven US platforms and systems and an end-to-end commitment to customer satisfaction, we are eager to initiate cooperative programmes with India's defence industry," Cosgriff said.
