Urad, its dal up on local demand

In restricted activity, urad and its dal prices rose up to Rs 50 per quintal in the wholesale pulses market today on pick up in local demand.

However, other pulses moved in a narrow range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels.

Marketmen said pick up in local demand against tight supplies mainly led to rise in urad and its dal prices.

In the national capital, urad rose by Rs 25 to Rs 3,425-3,875, while its dal chilka local up by Rs 20 to Rs 4,400-4,750 per quintal respectively. Urad dal best quality

and doya also moved up by Rs 50 each to Rs 4,850-5,350 and Rs 5,250-5,350 per quintal.

The following are today's pulses rates per quintal: Urad 3,425-3,875, Urad Chilka (local) 4,400-4,750, best 4,850-5,350, Dhoya 5,250-5,350, Moong 5,100-5,700, Dal Moong Chilka local 5,650-6,050, Moong Dhoya local 6,100-6,200 and

best quality 6,800-6,900. Masoor small 3,600-3,800, bold 3,750-3,950, Dal Masoor local 4,300-4,400, best quality 4,400-4,500, Malka local 4,000-4,100, best 4,200-4,300, Moth 3,600-4,200, Arhar 3,800-4,000, Dal Arhar Dara 5,400-5,600.

Gram 4,000-4,500, Gram Dal (local) 4,600-4,700, best quality 4,900-5,000, Besan (35 kg) Shakti bhog 1,870, Rajdhani 1,870, Rajmah Chitra 6,900-7,700, Kabli Gram small 4,000-6,500, dabra 2,700-2,800, imported 4,700-5,100; Lobia 3,300-4,400, Peas white 2,650-2,675 and green 2,750-2,850.
