A government has to be sworn-in in Maharashtra by November 3, the date by which the new Assembly is required to be formed as per the provisions of the Constitution. It remains to be seen how the protracted negotiations over ministries between the Congress and the NCP – the combine that has returned to power in the state — will be brought to a close.
Dimple’s debut
The by-poll on November 7 in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, will not be just another by-poll. This election has become high-profile, with Mulayam Singh Yadav fielding his daughter-in-law Dimple Yadav from the constituency and with the Congress taking the fight to the SP — the SP supports the Congress at the Centre – by fielding Rahul Gandhi to campaign for its candidate Raj Babbar.
