United Spirits Ltd on Friday reported 73.46 per cent decline in standalone net profit at Rs 39.27 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2012 on the back of lower sales volumes.

The company had posted net profit of Rs 147.99 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.

Net sales during the quarter under review stood at Rs 2,220.7 crore, as against Rs 1,790.62 crore in the year-ago period, USL said in a filing to the BSE.
