United Breweries Q4 profit dips 82%

Vijay Mallya-led United Breweries Ltd today said its net profit declined by 82.5 per cent to Rs 7 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 40 crore for the same period of previous fiscal, United Breweries (UBL) said in a filing to the BSE.

Sales revenue of the company, however, rose to Rs 955 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012, against Rs 840 crore during the same period of previous fiscal.

For the year ended March 31, 2012, the company posted a net profit of Rs 126 crore compared to Rs 147 crore in 2010-11.

The company's sales revenues for the year ended March 31, 2012, rose to Rs 3,628 crore against Rs 3,060 crore during the previous financial year.

Shares of UBL were trading at Rs 470.15 on the BSE in late afternoon trade, up 0.11 per cent from its previous close.
