United Breweries Q3 net profit at Rs 33 cr

United Breweries Ltd today posted a net profit of Rs 33.52 crore for the third quarter (Q3) ended December 31, 2012.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 28.62 crore for the same period of previous fiscal.
Net sales of the company stood at Rs 771.20 crore for the third quarter, United Breweries Ltd (UBL) said in a BSE filing. UBL had posted net sales of Rs 941.69 crore for the same period of 2011-12 fiscal.
The company said due to merger of various companies, including Millennium Beer Industries Ltd and United Millennium Breweries Ltd with itself during the previous fiscal, the current results are not comparable to the same period of previous fiscal.
The company sells various beer brands, including Kingfisher and Zingaro.
Shares of UBL today closed at Rs 781.20 on the BSE, up 0.66 per cent from their previous close.
