Traffic movement on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway was reduced to a crawl on Friday after a goods-laden truck broke down in the middle of the main carriageway, 6 km from Sirhaul toll plaza on the Delhi side. This led to one-and-half-km-long snarls near Rajokri, where the truck broke down in the morning.Commuters, mainly those going to Delhi from Gurgaon, had a tough time as it took more than an hour to cross that section of the road. Officials said the snarl was mainly witnessed on the Delhi side, though traffic remained slow on the Gurgaon part of the expressway, too. A spokesperson of the Delhi Gurgaon Super Connectivity Limited (DGSCL), the concessionaire of the expressway, said: “Moments after we were informed about the breakdown, our team reached the spot with a crane and other equipment to remove the truck and repair the road. Traffic flow was affected between 9 and 10. 30 am.”
