Top performers in Senior National Hockey to receive Nano cars
The three award winners will be selected by a panel comprising Olympians M M Somaya, N Mukesh Kumar and Dilip Tirkey besides a yet to be nominated journalist, according to Hockey Karnataka's secretary A B Subbiah.
"When we first agreed to host the Nationals, we decided that the event should be a benchmark for future competitions. Having been players ourselves, we decided to provide the best possible environment for the teams to perform at their very best," a Hockey India release said.
"The three Tata Nano cars that will be awarded to the best defender, best forward and best player of the tournament is just an extension of our efforts to showcase hockey in better light.
"We have also not spared any effort to ensure that the teams are given best accommodation and hospitality including transport from their lodgings to the venues. It is Hockey Karnataka's hope that the teams will return home with good memories," said Subbiah.
