To change time of new Shatabdi, trial run to be conducted soon
The Chandigarh-New Delhi Shatabdi departs from Chandigarh at 11.40 am from platform 1 while the arrival of the Kalka-Shatabdi is at 11.05 am. Due to the time gap not being much, the Kalka-Shatabdi has been shifted from platform 1 even though Shatabdi trains generally arrive and depart from here. This was also causing inconvenience to passengers.
Another problem that is being faced is the lack of parking space at the station. Due to the arrival and departure of two Shatabdi trains, the parking lot is overflowing with vehicles. The vehicles spill over to the roads.
Keeping these aspects in view, it has been decided that a trial run will be conducted to assess the amount of time that is required for the train arriving from Delhi to arrive at platform 1 and for the other to depart from the same platform. Accordingly, the time of the Chandigarh-New Delhi Shatabdi will be changed. It is expected to be shifted by a few minutes.
