Social network MySpace has come back with a dramatic facelift.
Users can now build a new profile and play around with the new service that allows one to stream and share music and video, as well as interact with your friends.
It is not completely clear when the site went live, but it was spotted by News.com.au on Monday.
It is possible that it coincided with the release of Justin Timberlake’s new single, Suit & Tie which was released on Monday.
According to the report, the new MySpace is incredibly pretty and it has done some pretty innovative things with users’ ‘timeline’ or posts.
Karalee Evans, APAC digital media strategist for creative agency, Text 100 told News.com.au that she was impressed that MySpace was so “overt and upfront” about what it owns and what you own.
She, however, said she got worried when MySpace wrote that your information could be shared with media, advertisers and “others”.
MySpace information is stored in the US and is therefore subject to The Patriot Act which means the US government needs no permission to look at and store your data and potentially share it with law enforcement agencies in other countries, the report said.
The old version of MySpace is still available through the company’s primary URL, myspace.com and will be for some time, the report added.
