Taxman raids Nawal Kanodia factories

The Income Tax officials today conducted raids at several premises of two sponge iron companies spread over Jharkhand, West Bengal and Bihar.
"We have launched raids at the premises of Balmukund and Balaji companies in Giridih, Chaibasa (Jharkhand), Kolkata, Jaipur (Rajasthan), Muzzafarpur, Lakhisarai and Patna (Bihar)," Income Tax Department's Deputy Director Apresh Tiwari told reporters here.
The companies are owned by Nawal Kanodia and Kailash Kanodia, both brothers, he said and added they deal in sponge iron and iron rods.
