Kolkata: If day one of summer placements for the 2009-2011 IIM-Calcutta PG batch was taken up by leading finance and consulting firms, day 2 belonged firmly to corporates.
According to a release, the highlight of the second day of the summer placements process was Tata Administrative Services (TAS), which recruited 10 students. This was the highest number recruited today by any single company. TAS, the Tata Group resource, picked up 10 students for the two-month internship in the summer of 2010.
Sources said TAS would be offering foreign postings for its interns; the exact locations are not finalised as of now.
“Tata’s commitment towards leadership development is reflected through Tata Administrative Services (TAS) recruiting the best of talent from premier B-schools like IIM Calcutta and providing them with excellent opportunities in various Tata group companies" said Rahul Krishna, head, TAS.
Apart from TAS, IIM Calcutta hosted top firms such as Hindustan Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Diageo and Aditya Vikram Birla Group. Some investment banks and consulting firms were also among today’s recruiters.
