



Mumbai, April 7: : Tata Motors Ltd, India's top truck maker, has raised the price of trucks and buses by an average of 3.5 percent from April 1 to offset higher raw material costs, a company spokesman said on Monday.
"Prices of raw material such as steel have shot up and we had to pass some of that to customers," Debasis Ray said. He declined to comment on plans to raise prices of cars and sport utility vehicles.
At 0728 GMT, shares in Tata Motors, also India's third-biggest car maker, were up 3 percent at 632 rupees in a firm Mumbai market.
