T A G wins creative duties for NewsX

: English news channel NewsX has awarded its creative duties to McCann Worldgroup’s second agency, T A G Delhi. NewsX is working on a total makeover. On its part, T A G has been on a winning spree since it entered the Indian advertising space in November 2008. It won the Videocon consumer electronics and appliances account a month ago. India is the third country where the full-service agency has a presence. It also has operations in San Francisco and Tokyo.

Grey Chennai to handle RmKV’s creative mandate

Chennai-based sari brand, RmKV, has assigned its creative mandate to Grey Chennai. Mudra is the incumbent agency. RmKV is known for investing a substantial amount on its brand positioning and promotions. In 2007, Mudra had picked a Gold at the New York Advertising and Marketing Effectiveness International Awards in the retail stores category for its case study on RmKV.

Panasonic’s Rs 100-cr a/c goes to Leo Burnett

Panasonic India has roped in Leo Burnett to handle the creative duties for its corporate and home appliances account, pegged at Rs 100 crore. Dentsu Marcom is the incumbent agency. The new agency is working on a 360-degree marketing plan for the Panasonic range, including television, print, out-of-home, internet and below-the-line activities.

Albert Almeida quits Sony Entertainment Television

Albert Almeida, executive vice-president, and business head, Sony Entertainment Television (SET), has put in his papers. Almeida joined SET in May 2003 as senior vice-president, marketing, and communication. In 2005, he took over as business head, and executive vice-president of the network’s movie channel, Max. In 2006, he was given additional responsibilityto look after the general entertainment channel as business head. Prior to SET, he was with JWT as vice-president and regional account director, Asia Pacific, on the Unilever business.

McAfee appoints Prabhat K Singh as senior director

Prabhat K Singh has been appointed senior director for Asia Pacific and Japan operations of McAfee Avert Labs. Singh is credited for starting the anti-virus research operations for McAfee India at Bangalore. He has over 14 years’ experience in security and data forensics research. Prior to joining McAfee, Singh had started and managed Symantec Security Response and Engineering in India. Singh holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, and is the founding member of the Virus Research Laboratory at the University.
