New Delhi, January 25:: Syndicate Bank on Friday launched its e-banking services, offering a range of services like banking through Internet, telephone and any-time money (ATM) counters for its customers.

Minister of state for finance Balasaheb Vikhe Patil launched this facility at the Defence headquarters branch of the bank here. Calling upon the banking industry to work vigorously to face the emerging challenges, Mr Patil said social banking needed to be carried alongside commercial banking.

The minister also lauded the policy of “need-based lending for small man” as adopted by the bank. Chairman and managing director DT Pai said under the e-banking facility, 200 strategic branches located at 68 centres would be linked through multiple delivery channels like Internet banking, tele-banking and ATMs, said an official release.
