With rising number of swine flu cases being reported from Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today said the state government was serious over the issue and making all possible efforts to check the spread of H1N1 virus.

He called upon the people to remain aware and alert about the disease and said that one should not be careless in consulting a doctor on having symptoms.

"It is 100 per cent curable if timely treated, so there should be no delay or carelessness among people in getting treatment."

"The government has made proper arrangements and a central team is assessing situations in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Bikaner," Gehlot told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.

He said after the central team's assessment, the state government will meet to decide on its actions.

According to official figure, 140 people have died due to swine flu since April 1, 2012 to February 14 this year across the state.

Meanwhile speaking about his recent Delhi trip, Gehlot said that he has requested the union government to take a positive decision on setting up an oil refinery in the desert state.

The state contributes 20 per cent of the country's total oil production, he said adding that the setting up of refinery would bring in investment in the state and generate employment opportunities besides accelerating the economy.

Gehlot also said that he has requested the central government to set up a railway coach factory in the state, for which it is ready to allot land in Bhilwara.
