Swine flu death toll reaches six in Kota division of Rajasthan

One more swine flu death has been reported from Kota, pushing the toll to six in the division, officials said today.

89-year-old Shyamlal's death due to swine flu yesterday raised the toll to six in the division, with four in Kota and two in Bundi, said Ramjilal, Deputy Chief Medical & Health Officer, MBS hospital.

"The deceased had come to Kota from Jaipur to stay at his daughter's home at Bhallabbari area when he complained of cough, cold and fever.

"He had been admitted to the hospital four days back after he tested positive for the virus," Ramjilal said.

Another patient, Dinesh Kalra, also tested positive for H1N1 virus infection yesterday and is undergoing treatment here, the DCMHO said.

"In order to prevent the spread of swine flu, Tamiflu tablets are being distributed to the family members and neighbours of the victims and block wise survey is also being conducted to identify any further cases", he added.
