The two suspected ISI agents caught by the Ahmedabad Detection of Crime Branch on Sunday were sent to eight-day police custody by a metropolitan court here today.
In its remand application, the DCB said the duo needed to be interrogated by various intelligence agencies to find out if there was any impact of information that they allegedly leaked to the ISI.
ďItís a serious offence and the accused need to go through intense interrogation. There are other intelligence agencies which are coming to question them to find out their activities of the last two years and to see whether there is any impact in the state and anywhere else in the country,Ē the DCB told the court.
Officials said the duo, Sirajuddin alias Raju Karamatali Fakir (22) and Mohammed Aiyub alias Sakir Mohammed Abdul Karim Sheikh (23), used various Internet cafes and exchanged emails with the Pakistani intelligence agency, which are needed to be examined.
They further said they also want to find out if the duo was in touch with any ISI agent, who was the person who took them to the Army cantonment in Kutch, their call details and money transactions among others.
Sirajuddin, the main suspect who had allegedly received a 15-day training during his visit to Pakistan earlier, had also visited Tanzania and some other African countries, sources said.
