Kerala Minister for Cultural Affairs K C Joseph today described the reported remarks of actor Suresh Gopi against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy as an 'ignominy' to the state as a whole.
The minister said the actor's comments were of 'no standard' at all. After all Oommen Chandy is the Chief Minister of Kerala, Joseph said, adding, Gopi should have borne this in mind this before making such remarks.
He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Malayalam-Arabi International Literary Festival here.
Answering a query on protest of Congressmen against the actor's remarks, Joseph said it was only a demonstration of their sentiments.
Suresh Gopi came under attack from the youth and student wings of the Congress for making certain adverse remarks against Chandy over the proposed Aranmula greenfield airport.
While speaking at a function, organised by Kerala Children's Literature Institute at Kollam, Gopi had said "if the chief minister is not in the know of things, he should try to learn from knowledgeable people."
