Sugar prices declined by Rs 20 per quintal in the national capital today following slackness in demand amid increased supply.

Marketmen said apart from huge stocks position into the markets, regular supply from mills mainly pulled down sweetener prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices traded lower at Rs 3280-3420 and Rs 3260-3400 instead of Rs 3280-3440 and Rs 3260-3420 per quintal.

Among millgate section, sugar modinagar lost Rs 25 at Rs 3275 per quintal and kinnoni fell by Rs 15 at Rs 3,400 per quintal.

The following were today quotations per quintal:

Sugar ready: M-30 3,280-3,420, S-30 3,260-3,400. Mill delivery: M-30 3,160-3,300; S-30 3,140-3,280.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3320, Kinnoni 3400, Asmoli 3360, Dorala 3310, Budhana 3300, Thanabhavan 3300, Dhanora 3260, Simbholi 3395, Modi Nagar 3275, Khatuli 3295, Dhampur 3270, Ramala 3170, Bulandshar 3240, Anupshar 3160, Baghpat 3180, Morna 3170, Sakoti 3220, Chandpur 3235, Amroha 3240 and Nazibabad 3160.
