Sugar price closes lower on ample supply, reduced offtake

Sugar prices declined by Rs 20 per quintal in the national capital today following increased arrivals from mills against fall in demand.

Marketmen said apart from large ready stocks in the markets, regular supply from mills against restricted buying mainly pulled down the prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices eased by Rs 10 to settle at Rs 3280-3420 and Rs 3260-3400 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also moved down by Rs 10 each to Rs 3180-3330 and Rs 3160-3305 per quintal, respectively.

Among millgate section, sugar mawana dropped by Rs 20 to finish at Rs 3320 per quintal, while budhana and thanabhavan also dipped by Rs 15 each to Rs 3300 per quintal.

The following were today quotations per quintal: Sugar ready: M-30 3,280-3,420, S-30 3,260-3,400. Mill delivery: M-30 3,180-3,330; S-30 3,160-3,305.

Asmoli 3340, Dorala 3300, Budhana 3300, Thanabhavan 3300, Dhanora 3280, Simbholi 3385, Modi Nagar 3270, Khatuli 3300, Dhampur 3260, Ramala 3200, Bulandshar 3260, Anupshar 3200, Baghpat 3240, Morna 3220, Sakoti 3240, Chandpur 3260, Amroha 3260 and Nazibabad 3200.
