Style Statement
From cherubic chubby to size-zero to curvaceous, somehow it was befitting that Kareena Kapoor launched a book on style. As author columnist Shobhaa De put it, she has gone from Bebo to Begum and what better way to chronicle the journey than a book dedicated to decoding her style statement along with DIY (Do-It-Yourself). In true Bebo style, the event at the spanking new Shangri-La hotel, started fashionably late but given that the actress looking svelte in a black Tom Ford dress and was in the mood to display her wicked wit, made it worthwhile.
Dressed for the occasion, the actress who has dropped a size or two, was kitted in an elegant Tom Ford ensemble with an eight kilo metallic leather belt for company. And then there were glimpses of the Bebo from the past . Sample this: to mediapersons who quizzed her on films and unrelated matters, she sweetly trilled, “I will only answer stylish questions!”
On being asked about Bollywood actresses that she considers stylish, the newly minted Begum volunteered just one name — sister Karisma Kapoor! None of her contemporaries made the cut because, well, she just does not follow their wardrobe trajectory! There were a few more nuggets like Saif being quite the shoe person who treats his prized footwear like, well, royalty! That she is more likely to get ready in a jiffy than hubby dearest! And yes, like every woman, diamonds are her BFFs (Best Friends Forever).
