Mumbai, Sept 27: “Can we really connect rural markets to global markets? Of course, we can by using rural markets for break-through innovations like Jaipur Foot which is now very popular in global markets,” said CK Prahalad, renowned management guru, during a teleconference at CII’s ‘National Conference on Rural markets’. Mr Prahalad, a strong advocate of building business that cater to the masses, stressed the need for innovations to develop rural markets in India.

Citing the success of Amul in the global market place, Mr Prahalad said Amul is a classic example to show how a rural brand can connect well with urban as well as global markets.

“To develop rural markets, you must focus on universal accessibility, world-class quality and affordability,” he added.
