Lucknow: In an apparent jolt to the opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, some sitting MLAs and MLCs of Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Lok Dal and BJP have resigned from the membership of the state assembly and council to join the Bahujan Samaj Party ranks.

SP MLAs Gauri Shanker from Malihabad and Dhani Ram Verma from Auraiya, RLD MLA Kadir Rana from Morana and BJP MLA Rajiv Trehan alias Rajiv Channa from Moradabad (west) resigned from the house and their parties.

The outgoing MLAs submitted their resignation to the assembly Speaker Sukhdeo Rajbhar, which he accepted.

Members of Legislative Council who resigned from the House included BJP MLC Ghanshyam, Ganesh Shanker Pandey of SP and Surendra Singh Nagar of RLD, BSP leaders in Lucknow on Wednesday.

After joining the BSP, the SP members alleged that the party had joined hands with communal forces.

The BJP leaders, on the other hand, accused the party of playing up Ram Mandir issue only at the time of elections. The party had nothing to do with the cause of common people, they said.

The RLD members accused party president Ajit Singh of being an opportunist and alleged that he ditched the people by allying with communal forces.

BSP is fast loosing ground in UP and it was proved in Bhadoi by-election where SP was number 1 followed by BSP and BJP as no 2 and 3 and Congress coming 7th. Up has always thrown surprises and this time also it is unclear as to who among these BSP, BJP-RLD and SP-Congress is going to get the maximum seats. It may happen that all these 3 alliances finishing with 25-27 seats each. Mayawati and Mulayam's Prime Ministerial ambitions are not going to be fulfilled as they have not emerged outside UP and are only marginal players. Further in UP they have only 25-28% vote share and by poaching MLAs and MPs from other Parties they think that they are unbeatable. But, this time BSP and SP will see reverses as BSP will win less than it hopes and SP winning less than 37 it won last time.

Are you saying that the BJP/RLD combine will win 25 seats in Uttar Pradesh. Common man do not dream. BJP this time will be hardpressed to even repeat its 2004 performance of 10 seats

This is because of UPA's inspiration and promotion of FATWA-badi progromme. This type of nuisance questions the actual definition of SECULARISM and which parties are actually so-called secular force.
