Soyabean futures prices surge on global cue

Soyabean prices spurted by Rs 68 to Rs 3,227 per quintal in futures trading today following speculative buying by traders in tandem with firm overseas markets cue.

Marketmen said rise in its prices at foreign markets mainly encouraged traders to raise holdings.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean prices or the December contract advanced by Rs 68, or 2.15 per cent, to Rs 3,227 per quintal, with an open interest of 17,560 lots.

Most active near January contract also shot up by Rs.66, or 2.06 per cent, to Rs 3,266 per quintal, having an open interest of 1,88,830 lots.
