South Indian Bank Q3 net up 33 pct

Mumbai: South Indian Bank on Monday announced that its third quarter net profit rose 33.10 per cent to Rs 54.20 crore.

The bank informed Bombay Stock Exchange that it had a net profit of Rs 40.72 crore in the same quarter in FY'08.

The bank's total income climbed to Rs 487.94 crore for the quarter under review, against Rs 375.50 crore for the same quarter a year ago.

For the nine-month ended December 31, the bank had a net profit of Rs 144.50 crore, a rise of 15.24 per cent from Rs 106.78 crore in the year-ago period.

South Indian Bank was trading at Rs 57.05, down 0.09 per cent on the BSE.
