SummaryWatching movies, playing games, browsing the web or listening to music—this stylish Android smartphone from Sony is created for entertainment on-the-go

Mobile phones have become a staple of our society. From school kids to office goers to senior citizens—everybody seems to be constantly on their devices, making calls, texting, listening to music, playing games or watching a movie. Some are so intensely glued to their screens even while driving their vehicles, walking or crossing the road, that they can be a hazard for others. After all, addiction to anything, even

mobile phones, is bad, isn’t it?

Here is a new Android phone which promises to give you entertainment on a grand scale. It also has the power to make you an addict of some of its features; therefore my request to you is to use this R25,990-a-piece

device in a sensible manner and not a be nuisance to others, as described above. It’s called the Xperia T2 Ultra from the Japanese electronics maker Sony and take my word, it will genuinely floor you with its great features. It has a brilliant screen, smart camera and a whole lot of apps

designed to keep you entertained. Like many others, it is jostling for consumer attention in the mid- to high-end phone segment.

Out of the box, the T2 Ultra comes across as a fairly big phone. This dual SIM device is slim and pretty lightweight at 172 grams, and can fit in a jacket pocket with ease. It looks and feels great in the hand. The only downside is that given its extraordinary size, one-hand operation can be a bit difficult. On the brighter side, users can set up both SIM cards independently with custom ring tones and one-touch switching between SIMs before making calls or sending texts. Sony’s dual SIM management technology means that users can keep both SIMs active, never missing a call, even while talking on one of them.

Although this device is intended for emerging markets like China, India, the Middle East, Africa and countries in the Asia-Pacific region, it isn’t lacking in any substantial way. It’s packed to the gills with the best Sony has to offer, including a near edgeless design with a 6-inch screen and a 13 megapixel camera. The 6-inch HD Triluminos display extends to within 2.5 mm of the phone’s edges. This means that it has a screen to phone size ratio of 73.6%, both making the most of the space available and ensuring that the phone is no wider than a standard credit card.
