Congress President Sonia Gandhi met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to congratulate him on the NSG waiver for India to carry out nuclear commerce.

Gandhi earlier in press statement congratulated the Prime Minister for his "conviction and commitment to pursue with determination India's integration with the global mainstream to meet the requirements of our energy security.

Explaining the waiver as a historic moment, Gandhi said "the NSG waiver marks the culmination of enormous efforts and skillful negotiations by our diplomats and nuclear scientists. Three decades of isolation have ended."
