Faster, smoother, more responsive—the Aqua Wonder from New Delhi-based Intex Technologies has set the bar quite high for competing homegrown mobile phone brands. Their latest dual-SIM 3G enabled smartphone is truly aesthetically pleasing with a good set of features built-in. It runs on Android Jelly Bean version 4.1, a fantastic operating system that is smooth, dynamic and feature rich. And by pricing the device thoughtfully at R9,990, the company is aiming to penetrate not only in semi-urban towns but urban cities as well.

On first impressions, the most striking feature of this white beauty is the design—it is sleek and does not have sharp edges anywhere; it has curved corners and feels sturdy in hand. The front panel has a full touch 4.5 inch display screen with a display resolution of 960 x 540. There are three capacitive keys on the large display, the volume keys are placed on the left side and the power button is on the right of the phone. During testing, I didn’t encounter any issue with its touch response.

Close inspection revealed that the phone is equipped with sensors namely Light sensor, Motion sensor, G Sensor and Proximity sensor which allows the user to adjust brightness of the screen, detects and turns off the screen during calls etc. This in-turn controls the outflow of infrared rays and also saves battery at the same time.
