Silver prices moved down by 1.02 per cent to Rs 49,174 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their exposures, tracking a weak trend in overseas markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December fell by Rs 504, or 1.02 per cent, to Rs 49,174 per kg in business turnover of 6,976 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in far-month March traded lower by Rs 481, or 0.95 per cent, to Rs 50,290 per kg in 92 lots.
Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators at prevailing levels on the back of a weak global trend mainly pulled down silver prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver fell by 0.51 per cent to USD 21.67 an ounce in London.
