Sibal ministry to discuss arrests for FB posts
“The law has been misused with regard to lodging of a case on expressing one’s views on Facebook as everyone has the right of expression,” Sibal said in reply to a question during a function here.
The minister said he had convened a meeting of his ministry to deliberate on all such incidents that took place on November 29 and if required law for the purpose would also be discussed.
But, the minister stressed, such issues could be resolved through dialogue.
To another question, the Union minister, who was here to take part in ‘Kalki Mahotsav’, said the government had acted in accordance with the law on the Ajmal Kasab case who was hanged on Wednesday. On Afzal Guru, he asked as to why previous governments did not execute the orders on him and recalled as to how during the BJP government terrorists were handed over to Pakistan.
