With Chennai Express, Shah Rukh Khan is riding high on yet another top record-breaking hit movie.

The Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone-starring Rohit Shetty film Chennai Express, that hit theatres last Friday, made on a relatively modest budget of Rs 70 cr has broken all records to break through the Rs 150 crore barrier in its first weekend – it crossed Rs 100 cr in first three days.

The film collected Rs 33.12 cr on opening day.

And, what with Independence Day yesterday and extended weekend looming, the film is targetting Rs 200 cr. Mark.

The good news was passed by none other than Taran Adarsh via his tweet: “#ChennaiExpress sets new benchmarks, crosses 150 cr”.
