A lookout notice was issued against jailed spiritual guru Asaram Bapu’s son Narayan Sai on Monday, a day after fresh sexual abuse complaints were lodged against the father-son duo by two sisters.
“We have issued a lookout notice against Narayan Sai, son of Asaram,” said Surat Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana. “We have informed immigration authorities that a grave offence has been registered against him. This (lookout notice) is a precautionary step so that he cannot leave the country,” Asthana said.
In Jaipur, irate residents ransacked Asaram’s ashram in Kardhani area at Jhotwara. Raising slogans against Asaram, a group of about 15 people pelted stones at the ashram and smashed furniture and window panes, said ACP Jhotwara Nasimulah Khan.
In Surat, Asthana said police teams have started investigation in the case. He said they have identified a few locations where Sai could be. Police have registered two complaints-one against Asaram and another against Sai-of rape, sexual assault, illegal confinement and other charges.
