Russia's biggest steelmaker, Severstal, is considering job reductions at its Russian and Italian facilities after announcing production cuts earlier on Friday, a company spokesman said.

The spokesman, speaking on the phone from London, declined to comment on a media report on Thursday that Severstal would reduce staff in the United States.
