6.10 pct followed by Sun Pharma 5.02 pct, TCS 4.89 pct, Dr Reddy's Lab 4.54 pct, Hero Motor 3.95 pct, Gail India 3.80 pct, Maruti Suzuki 3.56 pct, Cipla 3.01 pct, BHEL 2.49 pct, Tata Power 2.42 pct, Axis Bank 2.31 pct and SBI 2.18 pct.

Among the S&P BSE sectoral indices, FMCG dropped by 3.15 pct and Oil&Gas 1.11 pct, while Power rose by 12.32 pct, followed by HC 4.09 pct, CD 3.91 pct, Realty 2.44 pct, Auto 2.15 pct, CG 1.61 pct, IT 1.34 pct and Teck 1.14 pct.

Small and mid-cap indices rose by 2.67 pct and 2.71 pct respectively on good demand from retail investors.

Total market turnover on the BSE and the NSE dropped further to Rs 16,443.20 crore and Rs 84,601.92 crore respectively from the last weekend's level of Rs 18,443.21 crore and Rs 91,243.12 crore.
