Select base metals price up on global cues

Select base metal prices rose by Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market today on increased buying by stockists in line with a firming global trend.

Traders increased buying by stockists in tandem with afirming global trend as data from China, mainly led to rise in select base metals.

Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery climbed 0.5 per cent to USD 8,070 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and zinc rose by Rs 2 each to Rs 434 and Rs 123-127 per kg respectively. Lead ingot and lead imported were also traded higher by similar margin to Rs 144 and Rs 142 per kg respectively.

The following are metal rates per kg: Zinc ingot 123-127, nickel plate (4x4) 1,065-1,068, gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 434,

chadri deshi 285.

Lead ingot 144, lead imported 142, aluminium ingots 132, sheet cutting 133, aluminium wire scrap 137 and aluminium utensils scrap 132.
