Sanofi India launches new product in headache segment

Healthcare service provider Sanofi India, formerly Aventis Pharma, is aiming at a four per cent market share in the headache segment currently valued at Rs 233 crore, according to a top company official.

"We are planning a four per cent market share (in volume terms) and Rs 10 crore (in value terms)," Sanofi India Senior Director-Consumer Healthcare, Anindya Chowdhury, said.

He was speaking during the launch of Combiflam Plus, a paracetamol and caffeine combination for headache.

"Currently, the headache segment market is valued at Rs 233 crore. We are not present in this segment and with this (launch) we are planning a four per cent market share(in headache segment)", Chowdhury told reporters here.

He said Combiflam Plus is extension of Combiflam which is available in the market for over 25 years.

The company, has four manufacturing facilities in India, employing about 4,500 people.

A pack of four Combiflam Plus is priced at Rs 9.50 and would be available in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Punjab and Haryana.
