Salman Khan's 'Jai Ho' box office collections are, like the actor himself, refusing to say 'die' and are struggling along manfully to try and keep up with Aamir Khan's history-creating Dhoom 3 which bagged in excess of Rs 530 cr.
As far as overseas box office collections are concerned, 'Jai Ho', till Monday had as much as $3.55 mn (Rs 22.36 cr) in the till.
While that is not really a 'hot' figure, industry sources say it is nevertheless 'respectable' as January usually is a slow start for all businesses in overseas markets owing to the extended holiday winter break in developed countries.
When asked about how well Salman Khan's 'Jai Ho' is expected to do, analysts say while Salman Khan has done very well, Aamir Khan has done better and there is no way he can overtake 'Dhoom 3' as far as box office collections are concerned as it is clear within the first few days whether a movie will do well or 'bomb'.
They indicate that the marketing mix by Salman Khan was not good enough. They also point out that most reviews of the movie failed to tag it as a must-see Salman Khan special and that hurt money matters.
