IIM-A gives green light to new pay scale

Chandigarh, Jun 17: An Indian Institute of Management (IIM) will be set up at Garnavadi village of district Rohtak in Haryana at a cost of Rs 250 crore, member of Parliament, Deepender Singh Hooda said on Tuesday.

With the establishment of the institute, the youth of the region would not have to travel to other places for management programmes, said chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Moreover, it would also create large scale job opportunities for them, he added.

Rohtak district would have a prominent place on the map of the country after the setting up of the IIM, he said, adding that the state government had planned to establish large industries on the pattern of Gurgaon and Delhi at Rohtak so that the youth do not have to migrate to metropolitan cities in search of jobs.

Taking a step in this direction, the government has established an Industrial Model Township at Rohtak. Hooda would lay the foundation stone of Asian Paints industry in this Industrial Model Township on June 22.

While addressing the public meetings at villages on Tuesday, Deepender Singh Hooda said that he had been visiting the villages to know the problems of the villagers. The demands raised by the villagers would be deliberated in the meeting of senior officers after the completion of his tour. He announced a grant of Rs 25 lakh from local area development fund for village Garnavadhi.
