: One of the main issues that has the attention of everyone at the World Economic Forum is energy security. The rise of India and China over the past few years has added to the concern in the sense that they are also now big consumers of energy. There was much discussion on what the situation would likely be five years from now. Related to this is of course, environment and search for clean renewable, practical and sustainable sources of energy.
Another issues that was debated intensely was how to revive the trust between corporates, government, NGOs etc. A survey conducted here showed that the trust levels in corporates has gone down. There was much brainstorming on what companies could do to revive the trust with society.
The third issue that got my attention was that of innovation – how can companies continue to innovate, the changing paradigms of innovation, can it be outsourced etc? All these were discussed in the context of how a business can bring about innovations in different ways for growth.
