Renault India to export Duster to UK soon

Renault India will soon start exporting its popular utility vehicle Duster to the UK, initially, followed with African (both East and South) and Asian countries apart from all the right-hand driven market across the globe from India. The company is happy with the existing capacity for next two years and seeks to focus more on aftermarket, including distribution, supply of parts, service network to be a major player while sustaining its growth momentum, said Marc Nassif, managing director, Renault India.

Speaking to the reporters on the sidelines of a CII’s ‘Autoserve 2012’ event on ‘Innovative strategies for profitable automotive sector’ here on Friday, he said: “We will soon start exporting Duster to the UK market on trial basis and will spruce up by year-end. The base will be same, however, it will be tweeked to suit the UK and European market conditions and will be sold under different name.”

To a question, he said: “We have no plans to export small cars as we have plants across the globe. However, we will also look at markets such as East and South Africas, Asian region, including Malaysia, Singapore for Duster. We are here to do exports too and we will look at all the right-hand driven markets across the globe for Duster exports.” He said “We have enough capacity for next two years to meet both Indian and overseas markets.”
