: to look around for proof. Local and national newspapers are featuring photography much more prominently than they did in the past, and have become more liberal in their payments and their hiring of shooters. That’s because a picture, any photojournalist will tell you, can be worth a thousand dollars. And as the citizen shutterbug movement takes hold, it is reasonable to assume that photojournalism as an art form will continue to thrive.

This year’s IPPA have just got over. May the IPPA emerge a bigger and more respected brand in 2009....
