Hyderabad: Founder of Satyam Computer, B Ramalinga Raju, who lived like a 'king' before admitting fudging of company accounts to the tune of Rs 7,800 crore, slept on the floor of the Chanchalguda jail here like other ordinary prisoners.

Raju and his brother Rama Raju, the Managing Director of the company, would be treated as 'C' class prisoners just like any other remand prisoners and there would no special treatment given to them, Additional Director General (Prisons) P Narasimha Reddy.

The two Raju brothers were sent to Chanchalguda prison yesterday on a 14-day judicial remand by a local court here.

They were produced at the residence of the 6th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate by the state CID, investigating into financial irregularities of the firm after an 18-hour grilling session.

Both were arrested on Friday night.

The CID has registered a case against the duo under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 478 (use of forged documents) and filed a 15-page remand report which includes confession of both brothers.

The duo slept with 28 other inmates accused of crime like theft, dowry harassment and cheating among others.

It is unfortunate to hear about the fate of Raju's as they born with Silver spoons. Everyone admire Ramalinga Raju's braveness on accepting the mistake openly at the time of stepping down, owning the responsibility to face the consequences. We feel,behind all this might be Vadlamani

This is not a very big news and its ok to stay put him with other inmates. But Raju is not a politician, otherwise he would have got Chest Pain or some other ailments and that might lead him to admission in Hospital with Docs.

Sir Why it should be a big news that the CEO of Satyam is to be treated as an ordinary prisoner? Mr. Raju's conduct and crime reminds us of Hari Das Mundhra's scam in 1957, which was exposed by no less a person than the son in law of Jawahar Lal Nehru in the Parliament. As a result of the investigations,the then finance minister had to resign. Will the present finance minister also resign after investigations? It has been a long history right from Harshad Mehta ,Ketan Parekh and Madhupura cooprtatives that a few corporate heads indulging in creative accounting with sole objective of enriching themselves at the cost of lower middle class investors. Finally can we ever visualise any leading corporate fraudster in India being handcuffed for his financial crimes like in USA?Financial crimes are after all no less heinous than the crimes dealt by the criminal code. There is no doubt that India is a poor country of rich people where riches ride the law and the law rides the poor.

What is the relevance of this news? Isn't it be done so? If he is not a criminal, why he has end up in prison? All Indians should feel proud, if Mr. Raju is treated like just another prisnor.

I feel that Mr.Raju must be given special status in the prison and not like a ciriminal . AFTER HE WAS AN MD OF A FIRM WHICH HAS EMPLOYEED 53,000 PERSONS. IT IS TO BE NOTED THAT HE ADMITTED THE FRAUD ON HIS OWN.... HE HAS SUCH COURAGE HEART... UN LIKE OUR POLITICIANS....
