Water at major hydel reservoirs like Linganamakki, Supa, Varahi, Harangi and Narayanapura has started raising following heavy rains in the last two days. If such rains continued for further few days, energy department officials said the government may lift the load-shedding across the State. Currently, the government has announced 20% power cuts in July and 25% in August due to acute shortage for power in the State.

The department officials said the power situation may return to normal in two or three days. Water level at Linganamakki touched 23,000 feet on Sunday from the earlier 9,000 feet.

Beside s, the State will also receive 100 mw from Chattisgarh from August 1. The rains have also reduced the daily consumption that declined to 91 million units on Sunday from 116 million units on Friday.
